On May 3, Sister Spokesman hosted its annual Threads of Impact, a fashion show that celebrated creativity and cultural expression. As the producer of this event, I had the privilege of helping Minnesota’s top models grace the runway, showcasing a curated lineup of designers, each bringing their unique voice to the forefront.
The show opened with Kathryn Rogers of House of KLynn, who captivated the audience with dramatic silhouettes and luxurious fabric choices. Her collection embodied elegance and power, setting a high standard for the evening.
Next up was Satiya Amporful of Uniquely Global, whose bold Afrocentric prints and regal designs paid homage to diasporic heritage. Each piece told a story, connecting the past to the present and celebrating the richness of cultural identity.
Rounding out our designer trio was Marques Armstrong of Renaissance, who delivered striking menswear that beautifully fused streetwear with classic tailoring. His innovative approach resonated with the audience, showcasing the evolution of modern fashion.
As a surprise highlight of the evening, Sister Spokesman honored me and fellow fashion icon Sara Rogers with awards for our contributions to the industry. It was a humbling moment that underscored the power of community and collaboration in fashion.
Overall, Threads of Impact was not just a showcase of fashion; it was a celebration of voices, stories, and the vibrant tapestry of cultures that inspire us all. Thank you to everyone who made this event a success!
