In 1980 The Minneapolis Sound rocketed into music stardom with Prince and a secession of artists that created a unique style of Rock in Soul. The Minnesota Black Music Awards program returns with a salute to the 30th anniversary of the famed Minneapolis Sound.
The 2010 MBMA returns with performances from Mint Condition,The Sounds of Blackness, Next,The Ladies of Jazz, Heiruspecsand The New Congress celebrating the legacy and spotlighting the future of the Minneapolis Sound. The Seven Ultra Lounge will host a special 2010 MBMA music workshop and red carpet event to kick-off this music celebration.
The pre-party night of festivities will start at Seven Ultra Lounge at 6pm.
Then head over to the Pantages for the 2010 MBMA at 8pm.
Close the night out back at Seven Ultra Lounge for the incredible after party.
