Hallie Q Brown Community Center just reached out and they need help… For many kids, having a glass of milk with dinner or their afternoon snack is a daily occurrence, but those that receive free or reduced-price lunches during the school year often go without during the summer. Despite the demand, milk and eggs are one of the least donated items at food banks.
Because schools are closed due to the COVID-19 virus, we have leaped ahead to this gap. Milk is the top food source for three of the nutrients most likely to be missing in kids’ diets – calcium, vitamin D and potassium.
