The Darkness In My Skin 2022
Sean “The wound is the place where the Light enters you.” This quote by Rumi sums up the essence of my show, “The Darkness in my Skin: A Live Painting Experience.”
This show will address the roots of America as it pertains to race and racism, through the lens of a live painting experience where I will be painting a mass lynching and making the connection to today. It will be a journey, where at the end we will all take an active part in questions and answers as to how we can “dig at the roots” and no longer “whack at the leaves” of the tree that’s America. The end of the performance is the place where we begin. Please attend.
