WALKABOUT The artist will give a walkabout in support of the Friends of Iziko South African National Gallery on Friday 25 January at 11am. Tickets are R80 for Friends members; R100 for non-members; R25 for those 25 years and under.

The exhibition is on view until 2 March 2019.

ART FAIRS

At Cape Town Art Fair Stevenson (booth B1) presents new work by gallery artists including Wim Botha, Moshekwa Langa, Zanele Muholi, Paulo Nazareth, Simphiwe Ndzube, Deborah Poynton, Claudette Schreuders, Penny Siopis and Portia Zvavahera. The fair takes place from 14 to 17 February at the Convention Centre. See Investec Cape Town Art Fair.

Stevenson takes part in the inaugural edition of Felix LA at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles from 14 to 17 February. The gallery will showcase Zander Blom’s collaborative project with Sean O’Toole, The Bad Reviews. See Felix for details of the fair.

I have been a huge fan of Local Motion boutique in Uptown for as long as I have lived in Uptown. They have always been great to work with. I have pulled clothes from them many times due to their great collection of fun, easy to wear clothes with unique style I don’t see anywhere in the Twin Cities.  They also support local with many local Minnesota designers.  Please support any and all of their upcoming events below.

The Winter.Wear.Wellness. A Heart for Fashion Show is coming up on Saturday, December 15, 2018 and I could not be more excited.  It’s so important for the Minnesota fashion scene, local designers, models and if nothing else the Ronald McDonald House of Rochester.  Buy Tickets Now!

“I’d met Alexander Denning across various fashion shows, and read his backstory in a local newspaper. So, when he approached me after the Curated Style Runway Event at the Mall of America and asked me if I would be interested in assisting to produce a charitable fashion event in Rochester, MN. I didn’t respond with anything, but “Yes!”. The reasoning behind my involvement within this event is simple. When we see our youth striving to make their dreams, visions, and inspirations come to life…I believe we must listen and act. We must come together as a community to support this positive change that they are putting their hearts into success.

I am so very proud of how everything is coming together, from the amazing talent that is supporting this event to the wonderful volunteers helping to make this charitable event a success. We cannot wait to present an amazing evening of fashionable entertainment, while supporting our nonprofit partner- the Ronald McDonald House of Rochester, Minnesota, Inc.

It’s been 3 years now since my company IAmMoody started The Dandies Project to highlight the positive impact that many men of color have brought to their own community not only doing it with a sense of purpose but a sense of style!
