“With that being said, the Ebony Fashion Fair is a hard act to follow—which is why I can’t recommend the exhibit Inspiring Beauty: 50 Years of Ebony Fashion Fair highly enough. It’s on view through August 16 at the Minnesota History Center…”

The Dandies Project continues to turn heads. Kari Mugo of Minneapolis African Community Newspaper Mshale recently interviewed Richard Moody, 2014 Dandie Amara Kamara and photographer Nick Gallop to learn more.

She also reviews the 2015 Dandies Project book launch event that took place at Coup D’etat in Uptown.

The event brought together members of the art, fashion and business world in a one of a kind networking event at one of Uptown’s new hottest spots.

Shifting Perspectives – Adetomiwa Gbadebo

January 8, 2015 by IamMoody

Adetomiwa Gbadebo

I really like a new and upcoming artist Adetomiwa Gbadebo. His work is being featured at the Exit Realty Metro offices in Uptown and he just was invited to join the MIA MAEP as Board Member.

Below is a description of an upcoming event he is part of. I hope you consider supporting him along with our amazing local arts scene.

~ Moody

Shifting Perspectives is a cross-discipline multicultural concert series focused on recognizing, accepting, and celebrating differences between artistic disciplines, cultures, and communities.

Join us for Part 1 of this exciting 4-part series which will focus on the creative intersections between visual art and music. Watch the ‘unveiling’ of a new work by The Fire Arts Center, a free improvisation inspired by film and projected images, and the creation of a new painting inspired by the audience and music alike.

Collaborating Artists:
Heather Doyle, Metalsmith, Artistic Director – The Fire Arts Center
Wing Young Huie, Photographer, The Third Place Gallery
Adetomiwa Gbadebo, Yorùbá Artist, MIA MAEP Board Member
Tyler Cessor, Saxophonist, Founder – Shifting Perspectives
