July 20th and July 21st will be great days to go out with your dog and enjoy amazing sushi. Not only will you get to have a fantastic meal with your four legged best friend, but you can go out to meet others who share your passion for dogs and raw fish. This does lead to a good question though, what do you wear and does the dog need to get dressed up?
Sushi meals and fundraisers tend to be dressy affairs. It is a good idea to dress up to this engagement. Consider wearing a comfortable but stylish dress. One that is not floor length is ideal. Also avoid one with a high collar or one that ties around the neck. This fashion can make you look as though you are wearing a collar. You may also want to avoid heels as there will be a lot going on. Even the best trained dog may be tempted to pull on the leash at least once and this can easily cause you to fall or hurt yourself if you are in heels. Consider wearing those cute ballet flats that you have stuck in the corner.
For men, the sushi bar with your dog is not a time to slack off or look sloppy. Consider wearing a nice pair of dress pants, patent leather shoes, a polo shirt and belt. Leave the boots and sneakers at home. You are out to eat, not out for a jog with the dog. Besides, with this many women and their dogs, you just might find that special someone at the sushi and happy hour bar. You should want to make a good first impression.
It is important to remember that your dog is going to be with you all the time during this event. You need your dog to look good too. Schedule to have the dog groomed the day before the Sushi with your Poochie event. In addition, the leash and collar of the dog should be gender appropriate and stylish. If your leash looks like it is about to fall apart consider picking up a new one. There are is a large selection of stylish and practical leashes to fit every size dog.
Now, there will be some dogs who will be dressed for the event. This is not necessary; however, if you do decide to do this there are some things to remember. Always make sure the outfit is comfortable for your dog. You may be willing to go out in clothing that is more stylish than comfortable, but your dog shouldn’t be made to do so. Dress the dog appropriately for the weather. July will be hot and dressing the dog up in layers and tight clothing will only make the dog hotter. This can cause serious health problems for the dog and should be avoided. Do not match your dog. I know that people say they look like their dog after a while, but this does not need to extend into the clothing world.
