Bring on the Sexy Skirts: Top Reasons Why I Love Em’

October 6, 2010 by IamMoody

We men all share a common bond, at least for the most part: We love seeing good looking gals flaunting a sexy skirt. I think that for men, it’s the many different things that are left to our imaginations when we take a gander at that ‘hot’ girl strutting her stuff down the street wearing that miniskirt that really makes her look like model. Certainly, not all women wearing skirts are attractive. But that doesn’t mean that they don’t look good in them or that they are not fashionably sensible pieces of attire.

However, for all of you male readers out there who may be gracing this blog with your eyes, I am sure that when I say girls are downright hot wearing a dress, skirt, blouse, miniskirt or what-have-you, that we all take a second look. God knows that I do. And I have a good mind to think that there have been occasions of vehicular collisions because there were drivers (males for the most part) that saw a gal walking down the street with a very revealing skirt on, and they took their eyes off the road. Imagine explaining that one in court when you are being deposed.

For me, there are many reasons why I love seeing woman wearing skirts or hot dresses. But to name a few, they would be easily as follows. One, skirts accentuated the midsection and from there on down. Most people size up one another by starting at the head and moving their eyes downwards from there; or the other way around. Either way, a skirt is going to grab my attention every single time; especially on very attractive woman, and when worn properly. Secondly, fashion-wise, skirts and dresses have so many different and very delicious flavors, and they really cling to the body, giving it that loving clothing hug that I greatly enjoy looking at. On a final note, and this is silly but true, the Spice Girls really made me think about how hot skirts are on women. The grace and candor of their legs are coyly displayed, without alluding to the ambience of dressing slutty (in most cases).

Bring on the skirts baby! I can’t get enough of these fashion wonders. And, the endless combination of different tops and accessories one can wear with most skirts makes them even better, in my opinion!

Fashion to Fit the Body, Not Fitting the Body to Fashion

August 5, 2010 by IamMoody

I went shopping recently and heard something that shocked me. A young woman was complaining that she hated her body because she could not wear a specific dress. It was either too big, or too small without a good fit between the two sizes. This is an all too common occurrence and one that can wreak havoc on a person’s self-esteem, especially as the emphasis on size numbers and specific fashion outfits increases.

When I was young, I had the same experience. I was looking for a summer dress to wear to a semi-formal. This dress needed to be cute. I found this perfect, cute little dress. It had an empire waist and puffy sleeves, which were all the rage back then. The white and yellow dress, decorated by small daisies was exactly what I wanted in a dress. However, this was simply not to be. No matter what size I tried on, the dress did not fit. I was either too heavy up top, too broad in the shoulders or too big in the bottom.

While I was fussing with this dress and my friends were trying to determine what we could do about this, a woman came up behind be and told me not to worry about it. She informed me that I simply did not have the right shape for that dress. It was not designed for me. She said one important thing that I am now going share with you. “Change the dress, not the body. Make the clothing fit you, not you fit the clothing.”

Turned out she knew something about dresses and the perfect fit. I was lucky that day and met the designer of that dress. She was in to discuss a line of clothing that she was looking to design. I cannot remember her name, but she set me on a fashion course that I am proud to say focuses on the person, not the clothing first.

While there are a lot of great hints and fashions on the market right now, it is important to not become frustrated if an outfit does not look good on you or does not fit you. It is important to remember that you are beautiful as you are and that fashion is about how you feel, not what the name brand is. This being said, paying attention to fashion can have its benefits. Fashion blogs like this one can help you to find outfits that look good on people and may help you to find an outfit that is geared specifically to you. Great looking clothing does change the way people perceive a person and this perception can make you feel good or feel bad about yourself.

As to that semi-formal, the designer assisted me and my friends in finding the perfect dresses. They were not in her line, not her products, but that did not seem to matter to her. She was just happy that we looked and felt beautiful. She was a truly wonderful woman who has made a huge impression on my life. I wish I would have remembered her name, but I will never forget her lessons.

Sushi with Your Poochie

July 5, 2010 by IamMoody

July 20th and July 21st will be great days to go out with your dog and enjoy amazing sushi. Not only will you get to have a fantastic meal with your four legged best friend, but you can go out to meet others who share your passion for dogs and raw fish. This does lead to a good question though, what do you wear and does the dog need to get dressed up?

Sushi meals and fundraisers tend to be dressy affairs. It is a good idea to dress up to this engagement. Consider wearing a comfortable but stylish dress. One that is not floor length is ideal. Also avoid one with a high collar or one that ties around the neck. This fashion can make you look as though you are wearing a collar. You may also want to avoid heels as there will be a lot going on. Even the best trained dog may be tempted to pull on the leash at least once and this can easily cause you to fall or hurt yourself if you are in heels. Consider wearing those cute ballet flats that you have stuck in the corner.

For men, the sushi bar with your dog is not a time to slack off or look sloppy. Consider wearing a nice pair of dress pants, patent leather shoes, a polo shirt and belt. Leave the boots and sneakers at home. You are out to eat, not out for a jog with the dog. Besides, with this many women and their dogs, you just might find that special someone at the sushi and happy hour bar. You should want to make a good first impression.

It is important to remember that your dog is going to be with you all the time during this event. You need your dog to look good too. Schedule to have the dog groomed the day before the Sushi with your Poochie event. In addition, the leash and collar of the dog should be gender appropriate and stylish. If your leash looks like it is about to fall apart consider picking up a new one. There are is a large selection of stylish and practical leashes to fit every size dog.

Now, there will be some dogs who will be dressed for the event. This is not necessary; however, if you do decide to do this there are some things to remember. Always make sure the outfit is comfortable for your dog. You may be willing to go out in clothing that is more stylish than comfortable, but your dog shouldn’t be made to do so. Dress the dog appropriately for the weather. July will be hot and dressing the dog up in layers and tight clothing will only make the dog hotter. This can cause serious health problems for the dog and should be avoided. Do not match your dog. I know that people say they look like their dog after a while, but this does not need to extend into the clothing world.

Dressing for Success

June 29, 2010 by IamMoody

As businesses begin to stress comfort, creativity and personalization, there is a push within many businesses to allow casual dress. This used to be a Friday only affair, but anymore it is becoming a daily event. This is causing some problems within the office though. While business casual is fully acceptable, many people are taking this to the casual world and this is not acceptable within a professional office.

It is important to remember that you are a professional person. While it is not necessarily comfortable to be in a suit all day, it does have a very specific affect on the people who happen to enter the office. A suit gives a person the sense that the person wearing the suit actually knows what they are doing. The suit also gives the person an aire of authority and professionalism that is missed when a person goes casual.

This does not mean that business casual is out though. Not everyone needs to wear a suit and suits are not even necessarily appropriate all the time. It is important when wearing business casual that it is not casual. This means no jeans, no flip flops, and no comical tee-shirts. The shirts should be collared or professional. The bottoms should be made out of a non-denim material. Khaki and business pants are appropriate, but not necessarily shorts.

A good rule of thumb for business casual is that you should be dressed in such a manner as to be able to meet customers or the head of the business without concern about how you are dressed. You should always appear clean and well dressed when dressed in business casual. Avoid clothing that is baggy or excessively tight. This is a more classic dress style while casual is a more trendy dress style.

Accessories such as purses, briefcases and jewelry should be kept to a minimum. If carrying a purse or a briefcase, use the smallest one possible and keep it plain. If possible, match the case with the shoes. Make sure nothing is overly worn or in poor condition. This will give a very negative impression on anyone you would meet.
