Over the years, I have greatly played around with my hair and have had so many different hair styles that I would be—in all honesty—unable to recall how many ones that I have sported on my noggin. Most recently, I had a longer hair style that had cool blue streaks that were on the front bangs. However, despite trying every and any hair dyes out there, even hair stains, I found that quite often the blue dye would bleed whenever I sweated and get all over the place; not to mention getting on pillows, sheets, towels, clothing…you name it.
So I recently made the decision to chop my longer locks for a shorter, newer and more stylish approach, and really just for a change of pace. In the process of doing so, I arrived at this conclusion: There are some really easy and fun ways to find a new hair style that you will just love. Hopefully these candid tips will aid you in your quest for that pristine cut you so desire.
1. Find pictures of the hair style that you want first. This is rather easily done if you have the internet or some fashion magazines. Try and find pictures that closely resemble the hair style that you desire. Then print them out on your computer or cut them out of the magazine to bring in to show to your hair stylist.
2. The hair salon you choose greatly matters. For certain, hair cuts can vastly range in price, depending upon where you go to get them. The best advice that I can offer here—and based upon my own experiences as well—is that you get what you pay for. Going for that ten dollar hair cut and being dissatisfied with it should be no shocker, if that is the choice that you make.
3. Always demonstrate the length you want cut off using your fingers. Never tell a hair stylist to remove ‘so many inches’ because quite often it may be less or more than you want. A great rule of thumb to follow here is to show them how much hair you want cut off using your fingers. In this manner, they can have a far greater idea of what to cut off.
