Studded Leather Belts Are Still My All-Time Favorites!

August 12, 2010 by Michael Jon Lazar

I have already talked about the awesomeness of interchangeable belt buckles—a post that you can find if you are interested that was entitled, “Self Expression & Fashion Easily Attained with Interchangeable Belt Buckles.” Just click the link if you wish to read that article, as it is very interesting, at least in my own opinion; if you are all about belt buckles these days that is. However, there is one topic that I have not delved into regarding belts and their awesome fashion prowess: The couture, suaveness and edginess of the always presentable and very fashionable studded leather belt!

I love to wear leather cuffs, some rings and bracelets, a nice necklace, and always a grand old pair of Doc Marten Boots – which are my favorite of all shoes in the world! (I really go all out on my affinity for these awesome boots in this cool article I wrote about them that you can find by click this Here; which was entitled, “The Ever-Standing Awesomeness of Doc Marten Boots!”) But, I have yet to delve into studded leather belts!

So here we go with the top three reasons why I adore wearing studded leather belts—and nearly on a daily basis, too!

  1. You can easily find studded leather belts online and for very cheap; think of stores like Hot Topic if you are looking for easy finds on affordable studded leather belts. You can also just search for them online, provided you know your size, and easily uncover just a grand plethora of great studded leather belts for really awesome values!
  2. The studded leather belt goes with nearly everything and anything. For Pete’s Sake (whoever the hell gold ol’ Pete is), my mother, who is in her 40s, loves wearing studded leather belts, and she dresses all preppy and adds this edge with a nice studded leather belt.
  3. Lastly: they look freaking cool! As if that was not the superlative of this diatribe anyways. Certainly, there are great belts for all occasions. But if you really want some flare and you truly want to accessorize, then you should look into getting your hands on a studded leather belt, such as the one pictured to the upper left above!

Fashion to Fit the Body, Not Fitting the Body to Fashion

August 5, 2010 by Sarah Arnette

I went shopping recently and heard something that shocked me. A young woman was complaining that she hated her body because she could not wear a specific dress. It was either too big, or too small without a good fit between the two sizes. This is an all too common occurrence and one that can wreak havoc on a person’s self-esteem, especially as the emphasis on size numbers and specific fashion outfits increases.

When I was young, I had the same experience. I was looking for a summer dress to wear to a semi-formal. This dress needed to be cute. I found this perfect, cute little dress. It had an empire waist and puffy sleeves, which were all the rage back then. The white and yellow dress, decorated by small daisies was exactly what I wanted in a dress. However, this was simply not to be. No matter what size I tried on, the dress did not fit. I was either too heavy up top, too broad in the shoulders or too big in the bottom.

While I was fussing with this dress and my friends were trying to determine what we could do about this, a woman came up behind be and told me not to worry about it. She informed me that I simply did not have the right shape for that dress. It was not designed for me. She said one important thing that I am now going share with you. “Change the dress, not the body. Make the clothing fit you, not you fit the clothing.”

Turned out she knew something about dresses and the perfect fit. I was lucky that day and met the designer of that dress. She was in to discuss a line of clothing that she was looking to design. I cannot remember her name, but she set me on a fashion course that I am proud to say focuses on the person, not the clothing first.

While there are a lot of great hints and fashions on the market right now, it is important to not become frustrated if an outfit does not look good on you or does not fit you. It is important to remember that you are beautiful as you are and that fashion is about how you feel, not what the name brand is. This being said, paying attention to fashion can have its benefits. Fashion blogs like this one can help you to find outfits that look good on people and may help you to find an outfit that is geared specifically to you. Great looking clothing does change the way people perceive a person and this perception can make you feel good or feel bad about yourself.

As to that semi-formal, the designer assisted me and my friends in finding the perfect dresses. They were not in her line, not her products, but that did not seem to matter to her. She was just happy that we looked and felt beautiful. She was a truly wonderful woman who has made a huge impression on my life. I wish I would have remembered her name, but I will never forget her lessons.

Self Expression & Fashion Easily Attained with Interchangeable Belt Buckles

July 27, 2010 by Michael Jon Lazar

So you are looking to really up your fashion tastes, your image, and the overall appearance and appeal of your exterior, huh? While there are many different ways that people can go about redoing their fashion getups – especially in a day and age where one can easily shop online for nearly anything and everything they could ever desire that is fashion related and get great prices – an interchangeable belt buckle is perhaps a very easy way to start adding some real flare to the outfits that you desire to wear! For one, most people—at least in my experience—have little tastes for their selection of belts and buckles. Don’t believe me? Do some ‘people watching’ the next time you are out and about, and I am ever so confident that you will be wholeheartedly convinced. Back on track here…a great belt buckle that can be swapped out can do wonders for any wardrobe, and here are three great reasons why this is so!

1. You can really add some spice to your outfits. If you are looking to change up the vibe and the theme of the attire you are wearing, adding that extra touch of a custom designer belt buckle will truly work some magic for you; it’s like that last accessory that people often forget to add.
2. If you have a belt that can use many different buckles, you have some seriously hot options to choose from. You can easily look over your selection of buckles as they grow, and get that outfit looking sheen and pristine by adding a must-have accessory to the mixture.
3. Lastly, a cool fashion staple that I have noticed is that many people – men for the most part – allow their shirts to hang ever so precariously over their designer belt buckles. This not only accents their midsection, but it draws the eyes to look up and down when someone is sizing them up; perhaps that person they may go out on a date with later on after striking up an invigorating conversation with them!
