Three Reasons to Suspect That Your Significant Other is a Cheater

October 6, 2010 by IamMoody

So you think that your lover may be cheating on you? There are some surefire and telltale signs that they may in fact be doing so. Or you could just be obsessing over something that is not going on at all, and be feeding yourself with misinformation. However, before you confront them and start what is most assuredly going to be a very impacting fight within your relationship—check out these three reasons to suspect that they are or may be a cheater.

Three Easily Identified Cheater Models

  1. They never let you see what or who they are text messaging on their cellular phones, and get all defensive if they are asked who they are talking to. The brick wall defense is very common amongst cheaters. If you have a person in your life that is always texting and won’t divulge to whom they are doing so with, they may be veering astray.
  2. Always coming home late with poor excuses. Sure everyone goes out every once in a while when they are in a committed relationship. We all need a break from the joys of monogamy here and there. But when it’s an ongoing thing that creates friction in the relationship, they may be cheating or trying to just avoid spending time with you.
  3. Frequently talks to people of the opposite sex from work, or other friends, and they always leave the room when they call. This is usually a very bad sign. It does not necessarily denote that your significant other is cheating. But then again, why all of the clandestine secrecy?

Bring on the Sexy Skirts: Top Reasons Why I Love Em’

October 6, 2010 by IamMoody

We men all share a common bond, at least for the most part: We love seeing good looking gals flaunting a sexy skirt. I think that for men, it’s the many different things that are left to our imaginations when we take a gander at that ‘hot’ girl strutting her stuff down the street wearing that miniskirt that really makes her look like model. Certainly, not all women wearing skirts are attractive. But that doesn’t mean that they don’t look good in them or that they are not fashionably sensible pieces of attire.

However, for all of you male readers out there who may be gracing this blog with your eyes, I am sure that when I say girls are downright hot wearing a dress, skirt, blouse, miniskirt or what-have-you, that we all take a second look. God knows that I do. And I have a good mind to think that there have been occasions of vehicular collisions because there were drivers (males for the most part) that saw a gal walking down the street with a very revealing skirt on, and they took their eyes off the road. Imagine explaining that one in court when you are being deposed.

For me, there are many reasons why I love seeing woman wearing skirts or hot dresses. But to name a few, they would be easily as follows. One, skirts accentuated the midsection and from there on down. Most people size up one another by starting at the head and moving their eyes downwards from there; or the other way around. Either way, a skirt is going to grab my attention every single time; especially on very attractive woman, and when worn properly. Secondly, fashion-wise, skirts and dresses have so many different and very delicious flavors, and they really cling to the body, giving it that loving clothing hug that I greatly enjoy looking at. On a final note, and this is silly but true, the Spice Girls really made me think about how hot skirts are on women. The grace and candor of their legs are coyly displayed, without alluding to the ambience of dressing slutty (in most cases).

Bring on the skirts baby! I can’t get enough of these fashion wonders. And, the endless combination of different tops and accessories one can wear with most skirts makes them even better, in my opinion!

Lint Rollers Should be a Fashion Staple (For Everyone)

October 6, 2010 by IamMoody

Lint rollers, not enough people are using them. Hey crazy cat lady down the street who owns fifty million cats—and you can smell her walking from a block away—I am not talking about you; you are already a lost cause. But for all of you other normal folks out there who own cats or dogs, or both, if you are not using a lint roller on a daily basis before you go out and about, in my opinion you are creating a fashion faux paw and no-no that should be veered away from and greatly avoided. I am a guilty party in this matter myself, and I am not apt to admit it. I am actually glad to admit it, as we lint rollers anonymous members really need to spread the good word.

That good word being: There is a twelve step lint roller program in your area that can teach you the morals of proper fashion care on your clothing before you go out and spread fur and dander all over the place. On a bit of a serious note, here is some food for thought from my own experiences. I have a very large husky mixed breed dog. Needless to say, he is the furriest creature I have ever loved. There is fur everywhere and anywhere. I do groom him, at least once per day. But it doesn’t matter, because the fur gets all over the place.

Before I ever go out on the town, aside from making sure that I am dressed up all nice, that my hair is flat ironed and sexy looking, and that I look presentable, guess what? I use that darned lint roller like it is going out of style. Even lighter colored clothing can still bear the markings of fur that statically will cling to it. So keep that in mind, you pet owning guys and gals who are out there. Fur is cool as a jacket, or a liner on a coat (sorry your radical activists who are anti-fur: I love it, so deal with it!). But fur is not fashionably acceptable when it’s literally all over the place.

Seeing as most people own cats and dogs these days, lint rollers should be like your spare keychain. Don’t leave home without using one. And, put that damn duct tape away! They make these cool lint rollers now that will save you hordes of time when you are getting all dolled up.

Top Three Reasons Smoking is Glamorized in Major Motion Pictures

October 6, 2010 by IamMoody

Take just about any major motion picture that you could ever hope or desire to watch and aside from a choice very few, they all have something in common. I am not talking about the obvious facts, like that they are movies, they are made on film using cameras and they feature the talents of actors and actresses as well as directors and producers. Nope. I am talking about the fact that these movies generally portray people smoking, and in a rather disturbingly loving way. It certainly is dizzyingly frightful of a notion when you really ponder it at heart.

First of all, I will admit that I am a smoker. I also know that I abhor this addiction and really want to quit smoking to avoid serious health issues later on down the road. But I can’t help but get the urge to smoke more cigarettes whenever I am watching a movie where they huff and puff and really make smoking seem to be this glamorous affair that has no consequences.

Top Three Reasons Smoking is Glamorized in Major Motion Pictures

  1. Ad sponsorships. Anytime you see a brand name of a cigarette in a movie, guess what? They got paid to brandish that ad. But aren’t tobacco commercials illegal? Guess they are okay in movies. Go FCC!
  2. Smoking is cool. Or at least it looks damn cool. That’s the main reason they told us NOT to smoke during elementary school. But Sharon Stone looks pretty sexy with a smoke in her mouth.
  3. Actor portrayals. I will agree with one notion here. That being: That sometimes a plot does call for a person to be a smoker in the movie. But do you really need to encourage a branded ad or other people, like kids, to take up smoking just to get a few extra bucks of funding from a cancer-creating corporation? I think not. Then again, the continence of morals and Hollywood will never culminate; it’s just not how the movie biz works.

Coining the Term “Digi-Anderthal”

October 6, 2010 by IamMoody

Today I aim to coin a new term, and it really is one that has been a long time in coming, if you ask me. I was hanging out with a friend of mine the other day that has just gotten this nifty new cell phone that is just adorned with all sorts of cool features. Like most cell phones of the present day, it offers a touch screen, personal organizer, address book and tons of great applications you can use, like a GPS and so forth. I am sure that you are all—at least for the most part—apprised as to the many features and functions that cell phones and PDAs have to offer to one and all during the present day and age.

But here’s the kicker.

I was hanging out with this person and they were asking me some questions and taking notes. In the middle of it, they flip open the QWERTY keyboard on their cell phone and message back a person who is organizing a wedding that they plan on attending. They were asking me about some different bridal stores and fashion ideas that I may have for the wedding. When I divulged my take on the situation, the cell phone is put away and out comes the old school pen and note pad. That’s where I was spurred by the notion of creating a new term: “Digi-Anderthal.”

What is this term you ask? What does it mean? Who does it apply to? The answer is easy. People who use digitally advanced devices but still live in the paper-and-pen, obsolete past; they are only somewhat embracing the many facets that technology has to offer, and for reasons unbeknownst to me.

Look around you. I am sure you know a few Digi-Anderthals.

Fur is not Fashionable

October 5, 2010 by IamMoody

Big Name Fashion Don'ts

Fur is beginning to be a big trend again. There has been a 20% increase in fur on the catwalk. We are not talking the eco and animal friendly fake fur; we are discussing the real, off a living animal fur. This trend went away when people remembered that this “luxury material” comes from a living animal that has to die for the fashion, often in very cruel ways.

True, there are plenty of animals that die for the sake of human need or want. The cow and pig are bred and have been bred for our daily consumption. Fish and chicken are not exempt from this either. However, in most cases, our need to eat these animals is tempered with the humane killing of the animal. After all, no one wants to eat from a damaged animal who has been allowed to contaminate the meat in his struggle for life. No, these animals are killed humanely and treated humanely though out their life in most cases. In addition, most of these animals are from America, where we have strict laws as to how the animals are to be treated.

Fur does not have this need for humane containment and killing. What is important in the care of these animals is their coat and that the coat is left intact. This means that the animals are fed food that is tailored to assist in fur growth and care, but exercise and socialization is neglected. These animals are often wild, which means they cannot be humanely euphonized with medication. Since the animal’s coat is so important, electricity and humane weapons cannot be used for the termination of these animals. This leaves blunt force trauma as the only method of snuffing out the animals’ lives in order to obtain this fur.

China is recognized as one of the primary locations for the purchase of fur. China has also been under review for the abuse of animal rights at the same time. There have been a number of reports of the inhumane methods in which they house their food animals and their fur animals. There are even recent reports of animals that are butchered for fur and meat while they were still alive simply to keep up with the demand of the population. Without regulation, the farmers are able to so whatever they want in regards to housing these animals and often the results are deplorable.

Faux fur is the single most humane method of obtaining fur. This is fur that is made out of nylon, a plastic material that is easier to care for and easier to obtain. This material can be made any color or any variety of colors. It can be washed and does not have any animal odors to it. Regular fur needs to be washed in specific and toxic chemicals to maintain its appearance and keep it clean. Faux fur provides jobs for people working in factories but does not require the life blood of a single animal to create. This fur is the fashionable alternative to the horrors of real fur.

Please, before you purchase that jacket or fur trimmed dress, take a look at the materials. If it is real fur, make a fashion statement and walk away. If it is faux fur, not fox, and then feel free to flaunt the beautiful, soft and luxurious material, knowing that it is good for the economy, environment and the animals. Use these stunning outfits to create a true statement for the respect of all life and fashion.
