February 15, 2011 by IamMoody

Skin, it’s the most noticeable and the largest organ on our bodies. Our skin can say a lot about who we are, what our health and eating habits are like, and can easily dictate how presentable that we feel, as well as greatly contributing to our self confidence. It goes without saying that all fashion-minded individuals generally care a great deal for the health of their skin; I sure do.

But you don’t necessarily have to break the bank by spending oodles of cash on tons of different supplements and skincare products to enjoy healthy skin; although such products can really aid you along the way. To better help you enjoy more youthful, supple and elastic skin—here are five easy and delicious things to add to your daily intake.

1. Go crazy over berries! Did you know that yummy berries, such as blueberries and strawberries, are loaded with antioxidants? These help to eradicate free-radicals, which can damage your skin or contribute to premature aging.
2. Speaking of free-radicals and antioxidants, don’t forget to get your daily intake of green tea, iced, hot or even in a smoothie. It contains some very potent antioxidants as well.
3. While we are on the subject of antioxidants, eat more uncooked olive oil. You can enjoy it on bread or on a salad, or a number of other tasty eats. It’s not only bursting with antioxidants, but olive oil also contains certain phytochemicals that help to keep your skin healthy.
4. Water, water and more water! Our skin is comprised of mostly water. So drink up, because you should be drinking at least 7-8 glasses per day.
5. Don’t forget to get your proper amounts of vitamin E in. A delish way to do this is by eating more nuts, or seeds or even dark green vegetables. They provide a substantial source of this vitamin, which is crucial in the maintenance of healthy skin.

February 15, 2011 by IamMoody

So you want your nails to look healthy, sexy, and vibrant and to be strong and not have those nasty white spots – which is caused by zinc deficiency – huh? Well the good news is that there are some really simple tricks and healthy nail tips that you can easily incorporate into your daily regiment that can allow for you to more easily enjoy the nails that you so desire. Alongside of taking care of your nails the best that you can, there are some easy ways to keep them looking gorgeous. Our nails are a very noticeable external amenity. So do them justice and take good care of them with these simple healthy nail tips.

  1. Hydrate your nails every evening. That’s right! Nails need some hydrating in order to look their best. An easy way to accomplish this is to massage small amounts of petroleum jelly or castor oil into the cuticles before you go to bed each night.
  2. Eat more eggs and drink more milk. A glass of milk and a hard boiled egg once per day will allow for your body to absorb more zinc. This helps keep your nails strong and healthy, and allows for you to avoid those white spots, which are usually attributed to a zinc deficiency.
  3. Vitamin B and biotin for healthy, super strong nails. Some recent studies suggest that persons who consume biotin and vitamin B have nails that are as much as 50% stronger than persons who don’t.
  4. Toss out polish removers that contain acetone or formaldehyde, which can cause some serious damage to your nails. Instead, use a milder remover that contains acetate.
  5. Always wear strong rubber gloves when cleaning. Those industrial-grade cleaners can wreak havoc on your delicate nails.

February 6, 2011 by IamMoody

I am back and I have some more hair tips for you that can easily help you to avoid dry and dull looking hair that is caused by dehydration. Sometimes the answer to keeping your hair moisturized is actually a whole heck of a lot easier than we may think that it would be at first glance. The reality is that our hair health will often reflect the type of diet that we keep. So your hair will also benefit from drinking different types of beverages. Similar to that old time adage of we are what we eat, our hair is also what we drink. Fortunately, there are some tasty beverages that you can enjoy adding to your daily regiment that will allow for you to enjoy increased hair moisture.

Juices, veggie drinks and fruit smoothies: These drinks not only taste great and deliver daily allowances of our recommended fruit and veggies, but they are great for your hair, too. Juices, veggie drinks and smoothies are jam packed with helpful minerals and vitamins for great hair. Just watch the calories on the smoothies, because they can be high-calorie beverages.

Water should be a staple for you. Our bodies are made up of mostly water. So no surprise here that our hair is made up from this primary ingredient to life as well. Drinking filtered water is a great way to keep your entire body hydrated, especially your hair. Sometimes something as simple as drinking your recommended daily amounts of water each day can do the trick for keeping your hair healthy and moisturized.

Teas that are loaded with antioxidants will do wonders for your hair. One popular tea that comes right to mind is green tea. Antioxidants have been shown to eradicate harmful free-radicals; damaged cells that contribute to the signs of aging and disease. These same cells also play culprit to aging hair. So drink up, it’s tea time!

Affordable Age-Defying Tips for Men & Women

December 1, 2010 by IamMoody

The reality is that we all will grow older. That’s just part of life. However, this does not necessarily mean that we can’t feel like we are younger – or look like it – as we age. Thank goodness there is a plethora of excellent ways that we can retain our youth these days, and no, I am not talking about plastic surgery or anything drastic like that whatsoever. What I am talking about are some simple and surefire age defying tips that men and women can use (and are using), which can easily help you to turn back that aging clock in your youthful favor. To better apprise you of where I am coming from, allow for me to divulge some tips about anti aging that can come in handy for nearly anyone and everyone.

Eat an antioxidant rich diet. You are what you eat, plain and simple. The best way to ensure that the oxygen we are breathing to sustain life has minimal impact on the aging process is by incorporating antioxidant rich foods or supplements into our daily diet. This is so easy during the modern day and age in which we live. Simply look online for such supplements and you will be wowed.

Take better care of your skin. Skin care is essential if you really want to retain your youth. As we grow older the amount of collagen – what makes are skin supple and youthful – that our bodies produce diminishes. However, certain skin creams and supplements can boost it back up again, naturally.

Detoxify regularly. Over the years we grow older we will ingest and breathe in a myriad of toxins. This can really speed up the aging process. The quick solution: Detoxification. You can achieve this by using colon cleanses, or full body cleanses that will eradicate any impurities in your system.
