Fashion Weight loss Tips 101: Antioxidant-Rich Ingredients to Trim Your Waistline

December 11, 2010 by IamMoody

Here are some more great fashion weight loss tips 101 for you. We all know that antioxidants are the new wonder foods. Sometimes these can be derived from fresh fruits or veggies that we consume daily. Other times they can be found in extracts from certain plants or seeds. The best part is that by introducing antioxidants to your diet, you can not only purge your body of toxins, but you can greatly boost your metabolic rate, your energy levels and your overall health and vitality. In short: Here are some great antioxidant-rich elements that you should consider adding to your daily intake.

Acai Berry: Is one of the World’s most powerful antioxidants. This extract has been shown to provide increased energy levels, improved sexual performance, improved digestion, detoxification, high fiber content, improved skin appearance, improved heart health, improved sleep, reduction of cholesterol levels and the ability to combat free radicals; cells that cause cancer.

Ashwagandha root: Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is an herb that is used as a general tonic by helping the body adapt to stress. Additionally, this herb has been shown to possess powerful antioxidant activity as well as an ability to support a healthy immune system by showing strong antiviral properties.

Grapeseed Extract: Is a powerful antioxidant that contains polyphenol, which is a resveratrol, that has been shown to interfere with cancer cell growth and proliferation, as well as induce apoptosis, among a variety of potential chemopreventive effects.

Red Raspberry Seed: Is a powerful antioxidant that contains Ellagic acid which has been shown to have some anti-cancer properties. It can act as an antioxidant, and has been found to cause cell death in cancer cells in the laboratory. In other laboratory studies, ellagic acid seems to reduce the effect of estrogen in promoting growth of breast cancer cells in tissue cultures. There are also reports that it may help the liver to break down or remove some cancer-causing substances from the blood.

How to be Fashionable When Dating Online – Three Rules You Should Never Break

December 11, 2010 by IamMoody

I am back with some more information from my ongoing online dating adventures. Boy has it been one interesting ride thus far. Yet my fortitude holds me strong, and further do I push on into the realm of romance and swooning. For certain, it has yielded to me many very interesting dates, and they have not been without their ups and downs. Yet still, I find myself seeking that special someone who is right for me. Uncertain of whether or not that I will ever find that person, there are a few things that I have picked up along the way that can truly epitomize the real definition of some tried and true online dating rules. So allow for me to divulge what I have been able to take with me while on my quest for love on the information superhighway.

Three Timeless Online Dating Rules I’ve Learned:

  1. If someone gives out their phone number too early, it’s usually a sign of them being desperate. If you don’t want to have to screen your phone calls forever, then make sure to screen the people you date. Both men and women can be desperate, and if you are looking for someone real, the last thing you want to have to do is get your phone bomb-called day and night by the wrong person.
  2. Coyly ask for recent photos after you exchange numbers, and before you meet the person – in person – so that there are no surprises. Men and women are equally guilty of posting either out-of-date photos or the ‘best-looking’ photos of themselves online. We all want to look attractive. However, many times they look totally different in person. An easy trick around this: Kindly ask them to send you a recently snapped cell phone pic so you can see what they really look like.
  3. Keep the first date short, simple and to the point. Think of your first date like you are interviewing one another for a potential second date – or the second interview. Don’t overdo it. Avoid movies or other distractions so you can really chat and get to know one another. No need for spending a grip of cash on dinner either. A short couple of drinks or a cup of coffee or tea should allow you to really know if this person warrants a second, longer date.

Christmas Themed Clothing

December 11, 2010 by IamMoody

Well, looking outside the window, I have come to realize that yes; Christmas is just about on us. The snow is blowing, the wind is howling and it is cold out. Heading off to do my holiday shopping, I could not help but to notice the number of people wearing Christmas themed outfits. I’m not talking about the little sweater with Christmas bulbs subtly stitched in it; I’m talking about the sweaters with real bells sewn on them and real lights blinking.

Now, I Scrooge you not, I am not against Christmas. I love the holiday. I love giving and getting presents. I love hanging out with people I love and eating chestnuts by the fire. However, I draw the line at Christmas bells in my clothing. Save that for the tree, please! The same goes for the Christmas lights, let them highlight the tree, not the chest.

What I like to see and wear during the holidays are the nice, warm, fuzzy sweaters with presents and bears stitched into them, a subtle little pattern. Another fun Christmas outfit is over-sized sweater. Now, this is not the extra large sweater on the small frame. This is the small sweater that is designed to hit mid thigh on a woman and keep her butt warm during the cold days.

Jeans are another staple during these holidays. Sweats should still remain as night wear or gym wear. Please, sweats are not acceptable at the dinner table. Jeans on the other hand, never go out of style, they are warm and comfortable, and they dry pretty quickly. Jingle bell pants, while novel, are simply not ever appropriate.

The most important thing about dressing these holidays is to keep warm. Most of us do not live where it is still flip flop season. For us, it is all about the winter coat and the boots, the sweats and gloves. Keep warm and be safe this festive time of year.

Planning A Christmas Party On A Budget

December 10, 2010 by IamMoody

Celebrate New Year
Celebrate New Year- Scottchan

Christmas parties are fun. Everyone gets together and they celebrate the holiday. There may be gift giving, there is almost always food, and usually some music. The holiday decorations are done and the home is warm and comforting. However, many people this year are considering foregoing the traditional party due to the high costs associated with these parties. There are some ways to limit the costs of a Christmas party though.

  • Have your guests bring a dish to share. The food is often the most expensive part of a party; by having the guests each bring a food of their choosing you can have a wide variety of foods at the party without spending a fortune. This also makes everyone feel more at ease knowing that they contributed to the party, rather than they are simply attending the party.
  • Borrow things you do not have. Not everyone has a punch bowl. Not everyone has large plate sets. Considerworking with your neighbors and close friends to find those extra pieces that you may not have. After all, is it really worth buying a whole new set of dining ware simply for a single party?

    Celebrate With A Gift

  • The decorations do not need to be intense or overwhelming. Think simplicity. A few pieces of holly on the table or a candle really are all that is needed in setting up a beautiful table and setting. Most of these decorations can be picked up at thrift stores or dollar stores and have the same beauty of the more expensive versions.
  • Clean up in sections before the party and during the party to avoid spending money on a professional cleaner. While it can be nice to have a maid come in and clean the house, it is really costly. However, by doing the leaning in parts and during the event, you can avoid needing a maid and avoid the stress of trying to clean up for the party.

These ideas can really be beneficial when looking to plan a Christmas party this year. The recession is still in effect and many people have been affected, but that does not mean that Christmas does not have to happen. It simply means enjoying the real reasons for Christmas, rather than showing off or spending a fortune for a singular moment.
